Paintball is an adventure sport where players shoot each other with brightly coloured paint – filled capsules, using paintballguns (also known as markers).  It is a sport played at professional as well as social level, and is played by men, women and children.

Paintball is also a recreational activity and its purpose is to have fun, yet it will challenge you in a physical as well as mental capacity.  It builds character and leadership qualities in a war-like environment.  Strategic thinking and rapid reaction are qualities that will favour the inexperienced player – although there’s no substitute for experience! 

Other important factors include speed, agility, courage and strength, but above all TEAMWORK.  Paintball is increasingly utilized as a teambuilding activity, because of its remarkable ability to bring together and bond individuals in the same team.  Dependence on each others ability, as well as being together in a ‘dangerous’ situation acts to catalyze team dynamics.
